The appointment system we currently have in place works as follows:
Appointments are always available to book 6 weeks in advance, , i.e 6 weeks from the date you request an appointment.
Or
- A set amount of appointments become available on a weekly basis for every doctor at the practice. An example of this system is as follows: Every Monday morning at 10.00am routine GP appointments for the following week become available to you
- If you cannot see the doctor of your choice you will be offered an appointment with an alternative doctor .
- If you have more than one aliment or concern regarding your health that you wish to speak to the GP about then please be aware that an appointment is only 10 minutes, you will need to book a double appointment if you need to discuss more than one issue.
Urgent Same day Appointments
- If you think you have an urgent medical issue that you feel cannot wait until the next routine GP appointment, the receptionist will ask you for as much detail as possible, in order for them to ascertain which clinician or service you require. If our trained receptionist feels that you require a GP Appointment, th information that you provide will be passed to the ON CALL GP to triage. The GP will clinically assess the information you have provided and ask the receptionist to communicate their advice to you, this could be to attend an appointment that day , or an alternative day
- You may be signposted to an alternative service provider relevant to your issue, or your details will be passed to the On Call Clinician to triage.
- Children under 16, with acute presentations will be offered a same day consultation.
- Palliative Patient with acute presentations will be offered a same day consultation
