The appointment system we currently have in place works as follows:
- A set amount of appointments become available on a weekly basis for every doctor at the practice. An example of this system is as follows: Every Monday morning at 10.00am routine GP appointments for the following week become available to you
- If you cannot see the doctor of your choice you will be offered an appointment with another doctor if an appointment is available.
- If you have more than one aliment or concern regarding your health that you wish to speak to the GP about then please be aware that an appointment is only 10 minutes, you will need to book a double appointment if you need to discuss more than one issue.
Urgent Same day Appointments
- If you think you have an urgent medical issue that you feel cannot wait until the next routine GP appointment, the receptionist will ask you for as much detail as possible, in order for them to ascertain which clinician or service you require. You may be signposted to an alternative service provider relevant to your issue, or your details will be passed to the On Call Clinician to triage.
How do I make an appointment?
Telephone Advice
Patients who require " non urgent advice only" may leave a message with the receptionist who will request the advice on your behalf. The message will be triaged by the receptionist and they will decide who is the correct clinician to deal with your request, this could be either a Doctor or the Nurse Practitioner . You will be asked to call back at a set time on either the same day or the next day or we will call you back later that day or the following day depending on urgency of the advice. Please ensure that we have the correct contact details on your records.
